Best of all, admission is completely free, and the garden is open year-round, with peak blooms typically appearing between April and November.
The garden is lovingly cared for by the City of San José along with the nonprofit Friends of the San Jose Rose Garden, whose volunteers help keep this treasured landmark looking its best.
Rosicrucian Park
Just a short walk from the Rose Garden is another neighborhood gem—Rosicrucian Park.
Surrounding the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum, this peaceful campus features beautifully landscaped gardens, shaded walking paths, reflecting pools, and unique architecture inspired by ancient Egypt.
It’s not your typical neighborhood park, but it’s a wonderful place to take a quiet stroll, enjoy the scenery, or spend an afternoon exploring one of San Jose’s most fascinating museums.

Backesto Park
Located just north of the Rose Garden neighborhood, Backesto Park offers a more traditional community park experience.
